What sort of marquee lighting for your marquee events?

We offer a variety of marquee lighting options for your marquee events. With so much choice, much will depend on the overall effect, theme or ambience you have in mind for your particular event.

If it’s a wedding or party, you may wish to consider dimmer-controlled chandeliers, pretty paper lanterns or fairy lights cleverly hidden under the marquee roof linings.

If you are having a dance floor with a band or DJ, you may like some colour change wall wash battens behind the wall linings for a flood of colour. Or maybe a black or ivory starlit ceiling over hte dance floor.

Uplighters can be used anywhere within a marquee for subtle lighting or we can provide spot lights, including awesome sound-to-light spots.

Outside, consider some striking festoon lighting or more strings of fairy lights strung between trees or hung around the perimeter of the marquee.

Paper lanterns to light up your marquee

Paper lanterns look perfect in marquees. For a wedding or celebration, they look so pretty and spread the light softly and evenly across the marquee.

Here at Maidman’s Marquees, we have a stock of large, medium and small white paper lanterns and we always think they look best randomly spread around, although we have occasionally been asked to make them look more symetrical. If you don’t like them all white, you can source your own designs or we can order coloured lanterns to match your scheme – from big, bold colours to pastels and patterns.

We do often get asked if we hire out our paper lanterns for people to install in a hall or other venue. Unfortunately it isn’t that easy and this isn’t something that we do. Our paper lanterns are specifically designed to work in marquees and to be most effective, the lanterns need to be hung at the same time as the marquee roof linings.

Gilt effect chandeliers

For a traditional effect, choose our dimmer-controlled gilt chandeliers. They always look elegant against the marquee ivory pleated linings.

Ivory chandeliers

For a more contemporary look, choose our 5 or 8 arm ivory dimmer-controlled chandeliers.

Fairy lights

Strings of gorgeous fairy lights can be used inside or outside. Choose a few or many – they always look great!

Paper Lanterns and coloured uplighters

Our paper lanterns look perfect in white or we can change the colour to suit your scheme. Subtle coloured uplighters look fantastic tucked behind the marquee linings.

Coloured wall wash battens

Colour changing wall wash battens placed behind the marquee linings create an amazing effect in a marquee after dark. Choose our black starlit ceiling over the dance floor to complete the look!
