Winter Marquee Hire – Perfect for Christmas and New Year Parties

Marquees are not just for Summer Events and make the perfect venue for Winter Charity Balls, Bonfire Night, Christmas and New Year celebrations.

Our marquee heaters are thermostatically controlled to keep the marquee nice and warm. The addition of a solid floor under the carpet keeps chills at bay and if there’s lots of comings and goings, we can fit some wooden doors to keep the heat in.

For parties, we black starlit roof linings with twinkling LED lights which along with LED sound-to-light uplighters and the all-important dance floor, help to create a nightclub effect. We can also light up outside with festoon lights on shepherds crooks or strings of fairy lights or colour changing uplighters.

We can install covered walkways to ensure that your guests remain dry and we can lay paths if the ground is wet or muddy.

We can also supply furniture, toilets, generator, bar counters, fridges…and much much more.

Transformation of a school sports hall!

Here at Maidmans Marquees we love a challenge so when we were asked to transform a Bournemouth school sports hall into a gorgeous marquee venue, we jumped at the chance!

And this is how we did it..

This Bournemouth school has an impressive sports hall. Our first task was to oh, so carefully carry in a lay out the marquee equipment

We built a frame down one side and one end of the hall. The roof and wall linings would hang from here

Having secured wire for the linings to hang on all around, we start to hang the ivory linings

And we are nearly there – outside the ‘marquee’ and hidden from view, there is plenty of access for caterers etc and lots of storage

Having added wall linings and navy blue swags, the venue is ready to be dressed and decorated for the evening’s events. Anyone walking in will no longer see a sports hall!

Wedding season is almost upon us and we are excited that we have more wedding marquees booked this year than ever before!

Open day for new Dorset marquee wedding venue, Bailie House!

The beautiful Bailie House at Sturminster Marshall is opening its doors to weddings from 2016.

Marquee sizes and capacity – just what size marquee do you need?

Marquees come in all sizes…at Maidmans Marquees our frame marquees come in 3m, 6m, 9m and 12m widths and the lengths are in sections of 3m.

By deciding how many guests you want at your event, you can then use our marquee occupancy guidelines to see how big a marquee you might need. Obviously, these are only estimates but generally give a good indication of sizing. However, bear in mind that the addition of a photo booth, bar, stage, casino table etc may mean you need more space.

Our frame marquees don’t have guy ropes, so other than a small gap around the outside of the marquee, we dont need to allow any extra space. If room is tight, measure up the available area and then find a marquee that fits – use our occupancy guidelines to then see the maximum number of guests that can be accommodated.

We always conduct a site visit before we accept a marquee booking so we will double check measurements and discuss what exactly you want to include in your marquee. We can then advise on the final size.

Paper lanterns to light up your marquee

Paper lanterns look perfect in marquees. For a wedding or celebration, they look so pretty and spread the light softly and evenly across the marquee.

Here at Maidman’s Marquees, we have a stock of large, medium and small white paper lanterns and we always think they look best randomly spread around, although we have occasionally been asked to make them look more symetrical. If you don’t like them all white, you can source your own designs or we can order coloured lanterns to match your scheme – from big, bold colours to pastels and patterns.

We do often get asked if we hire out our paper lanterns for people to install in a hall or other venue. Unfortunately it isn’t that easy and this isn’t something that we do. Our paper lanterns are specifically designed to work in marquees and to be most effective, the lanterns need to be hung at the same time as the marquee roof linings.
